Focusing on peace support operations cooperation

The HDF Peace Support Training Centre has recently conducted the Peace Support Operations Cooperation Course (PSOCC) on the seventh occasion. On 24 November, at the closing ceremony of the two-week training, 24 course participants from 14 nations received their certificates.

Multinational Exercise Adaptive Hussars 23 ends with success

The international Exercise Adaptive Hussars 23 – the largest-scale and most complex one in the last 30 years involving close to 6000 personnel and 47 military organizations – has ended in Hungary. The Hungarian Defence Forces and the civil defence administration have passed the test with flying colors in the framework of this exercise, emphasized Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.

Qatari Delegation in Hungary

The eight-member delegation of the Qatar Armed Forces arrived for a five-day visit to Hungary on Tuesday, 21 November. The delegation headed by Brigadier General Dr. Yusuf Ahmed al-Kayed was received by General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of HDF General Staff in his office.

Hungarian Defence Forces conduct complex exercise to strengthen country defence

Speaking in the program “Napi Aktuális” of Hungarian television channel Hír TV on the day of starting the multinational countrywide Exercise Adaptive Hussars 2023, General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of the HDF General Staff said that during this exercise – the largest one in Hungary over the past 30 years – the Hungarian Defence Forces are mobilizing their reserve as well. In accordance with NATO plans, they are training for military operations that involve Alliance forces stationed in Hungary, and are cooperating with Hungarian civil administration to test its capabilities and level of preparedness.

Largest military exercise of the past 30 years starts in Hungary

The multinational countrywide military exercise Adaptive Hussars 2023 has started. The opening ceremony held in Hódmezővásárhely on 7 November was attended by President of Hungary Katalin Novák, Commander-in-Chief of the Hungarian Defence Forces; Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky; and General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of HDF General Staff.

Attachés’ visit to Kecskemét

Seventeen members of the Budapest Military Attaché Corps (BMAC) recently paid a visit to the HDF 101st Aviation Wing. During the visit, the representatives gained an insight into the organizational structure and task system of the unit, and then learned about the capabilities of the JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft at static and dynamic displays.

The end of a hard and heroic service

After ten days, the Hungarian rescue team – put together to help the victims of the Libya flooding – returned home aboard an Airbus A319 transport plane of the Hungarian Defence Forces, landing at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport on the night of 24 September.
