Another renovated memorial pyramid inaugurated on Doberdo Plateau

On 23 September, one of the most important Hungarian WWI restored memorial sites of the Doberdo Plateau was inaugurated in a ceremony on Monte San Michele in Italy. The Ministry of Defence Military History Institute and Museum (MoD MHIM) supported the renovation of a memorial pyramid erected on the northern slope of Monte San Michele in memory of the Hungarian Royal Nagyvárad 4th honvéd infantry regiment.

Pilgrims attend Holy Mass underground

On Sunday, 14 May, the 63rd International Military Pilgrimage (IMP) in Lourdes ended with a closing international Holy Mass and ceremony held in St. Pius X Basilica (Underground Basilica). Following the mass, the members of the participating delegations – among them, the Hungarian military pilgrims who had arrived there on Thursday – bid farewell to the town located in Southern France by forming up to march with the national colors and take an official photograph of the IMP.

In Saint Bernadette’s footsteps

On 12 May, the 63rd International Military Pilgrimage in Lourdes continued with an International Opening Ceremony. Led by MoD Parliamentary State Secretary Tamás Vargha, Catholic Military Bishop Brigadier General Tibor Berta and Lieutenant General Tibor Bozó, Director of Staff, HDF General Staff, the Hungarian military pilgrims visited, among others, the house where Saint Bernadette, “the visionary of Lourdes” had lived.
