As part of a field study, Senior Course 141 of the NATO Defence College recently paid a visit to Budapest. The Course Members of NATO’s senior-level education were introduced to Hungary’s position on foreign and defence policy and received information about the Hungarian Defence Forces. Among others, the event was attended by Dr. Gáspár Maróth, MoD State Secretary for Defence Policy and Development and Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi PhD, Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces.

On Friday, 5 August Major General Joseph Patrick McGee, Commander, US 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) paid an official visit to the Balaton Street building of the Hungarian Ministry of Defence. Lieutenant General Zsolt Sándor, Deputy Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces received the high-ranking American guest in his office.
Fairford: Hungarian success again!

Organized again after a two-year break at RAF Fairford, South England, the Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 (RIAT) military air show has delighted us with another Hungarian success. On 17 July, Captain Dávid Szentendrei, a pilot from the “Puma” Tactical Squadron of the HDF 59th Dezső Szentgyörgyi Air Base won the prestigious award for the Best Solo Jet Demonstration.

On Wednesday, 15 June Minister of Defence of Hungary Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky paid a visit to the training area and range of the HDF 5th Bocskai István Infantry Brigade Vay Ádám Training Base in Hajdúhadház. The minister was received by Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi PhD, Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces and Lieutenant Colonel Sándor Farkas, the commander of the Debrecen unit.

Hungarian Commander in Charge of KFOR

The Film City Military Base in Kosovo saw a change of command ceremony on 15th October: Major General Ferenc Kajári took over the command of KFOR from Italian General Franco Federici. With his appointment, for the first time in the history of the Kosovo peacekeeping mission, a Hungarian commander will head NATO's 22-year-long mission, for which some four thousand troops from twenty-eight countries are contributed.
