On Wednesday, 10 May a syndicate from the advanced leadership training course of the National Defence University of Pakistan attended informative presentations in the Ministry of Defence. The delegation was welcomed by Major General Ferenc Kajári, Deputy Chief of the HDF General Staff.

The major general said that the recent crises affecting Hungary have largely determined the path of the Hungarian Defence Forces. In 2015, migration was the cause of their main task, and then in 2020 the HDF did their share in the response to the coronavirus pandemic. He pointed out that the visit of the delegation further deepens the relations between the two countries, which will hopefully lead to even more forms of cooperation in the future. Following the welcome speech, Major General Ferenc Kajári and Commodore Syed Wajeeh Ul Hassan, the head of the foreign delegation presented gifts to each other, after which the Pakistani partner added that they, too, would be pleased to welcome the Hungarian delegation in their country.

The presentations gave a picture of Hungary’s security and defence policy; they were followed by an introduction to the organization of the Hungarian Defence Forces and the National Defence and Armed Forces Development Program, and finally, the hosts gave a presentation to their guests on the engagement of the Hungarian Defence Forces in international operations. The Pakistani delegation is going to spend a week in Hungary, during which it will visit, among others, the Faculty of Military Science and Officer Training at the National University of Public Service and the HDF 1st EOD and Riverine Guard Regiment as well.
