Pakistani Chief of the Air Staff visits Hungary

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force is staying in Hungary on a four-day official visit. As part of his program, the Pakistani general was received with military honors in the Ministry of Defence on Monday, 28 August.

After his arrival in Budapest at the invitation of General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of the General Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, the high-ranking Pakistani guest was received with military honors in the Balaton Street building of the Ministry of Defence on Monday morning. During the morning hours – in the framework of a courtesy call – General Sidhu had a discussion with General Dr. Gábor Böröndi. The Pakistani and the Hungarian delegations attended a plenary meeting with the primary purpose of informing the foreign partner about National Defence and Armed Forces Development Program. At the meeting, among other things, it was repeatedly stated that Pakistan plays an important role in preserving peace and security in Asia.

In what followed, the Pakistani delegation was received by MoD Parliamentary State Secretary Deputy Defence Minister Tamás Vargha. At the end of the military diplomacy visit, General Sidhu was informed about the domestic defence industry developments.

The 58-year-old General Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu – who has been in office for two years as Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force – is staying in Hungary until Wednesday. During his state visit – among other things – he is going to see the House of Parliament and the Embassy of Pakistan in Budapest.
