The annual conference is the world’s premier meeting ground for military professionals, research and development experts, as well as defence industry companies and partners in the supply chain. The topics of discussion on the agenda of the 2023 conference – with some 750 attendees and close to 150 defence industry organizations – encompassed the armed forces and capability development programs of various countries as well as all aspects of operations and support.

Besides the above, the event focused on two key issues: how can current military fields provide more capabilities in this rapidly changing environment, and how should these platforms develop in the interest of effective defence against future threats.

The attendees listened to several presentations at the conference, where Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi PhD talked about the Hungarian approach to the development of armored and mechanized capabilities in a period full of new security challenges. In his presentation, the lieutenant general spoke about the use of mechanized and armored vehicles at the time of curbing illegal migrants and the lessons learned; about the importance and results of the National Defence and Armed Forces Development Program; and, last but not least, about future plans and strategic priorities concerning the land forces, and the challenges currently faced by the service.
