Chief Warrant Officer Zoltán Kaszab

CSM Kaszab commenced his military service as a conscript soldier from 1991-1992. Following his 12 month obligatory service he enlisted at the 34. Bercsényi Miklós Long Range Reconnaissance Battalion at Szolnok, Hungary (later was renamed as 34. Bercsényi László LRRB).

Upon enlistment he was assigned at the Long Range Reconnaissance (LRRS) communication training company as instructor until 1995.

Following his instructor assignment CSM Kaszab was appointed LRRS team deputy team leader, later team leader.

Between 2004-2006 he was assigned as a Company 1st.SGT at the LRRS company where he served earlier.

Following the structural changes that formed his LRRS Battalion into a Special Forces Battalion CSM Kaszab was appointed as battalion Sergeant Major, and later Regimental Sergeant Major from 2007-2015.

Upon the establishment of the Hungarian Defence Forces Command CSM Kaszab was promoted to CSM of the Joint Special Operations Command.

CSM Kaszab recently is serving as the Command Sergeant Major of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

Medal Parade in Iraq

Hungarian soldiers serving at the Forward Operation Base UNION III Baghdad, the headquarters of NATO’s international coalition forces recently received the NATO Mission Iraq Non-Article 5 medal of merit awarded by the Secretary General of NATO at a medal parade held to mark the end of their six months of service. Lieutenant General Jose Antonio Agüero Martínez, Commander of NATO Mission Iraq, praised the self-sacrificing service of the awarded personnel in his speech and gave thanks for their high-quality performance in all common tasks.

Serbian–Hungarian Experts’ Meeting in Budapest

Heading a delegation, Colonel Nebojša Svjetlica, Head of the Serbian Ministry of Defence Department for International Military Cooperation visited Hungary at the invitation of Colonel Albert Gróf, Head of the MoD Department for International Cooperation from 21 to 22 March. The goals of the Serbian–Hungarian experts’ meeting were to discuss military-to-military cooperation and to sign the Serbian–Hungarian Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan 2024.

Renewing HDF Search and Rescue Capabilities
